About this role

An established ophthalmology practice in South Florida is seeking a fellowship-trained Vitreo-Retinal Surgeon to provide comprehensive medical and surgical care for patients with retinal and vitreous disorders. The physician will evaluate, diagnose, and treat a broad range of retinal conditions, perform indicated vitreoretinal surgical procedures, and develop individualized treatment plans to optimize patient outcomes.

The position includes managing conditions such as age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular diseases, retinal detachments, macular holes, and epiretinal membranes. Responsibilities include performing intravitreal injections and vitreoretinal surgeries, interpreting advanced retinal imaging, coordinating care with referring physicians, and maintaining accurate clinical documentation.

The physician will also have the opportunity to participate in clinical research and clinical trials involving investigational therapies and emerging treatments for retinal diseases. Responsibilities may include identifying eligible patients, collaborating with clinical research staff and study investigators, supporting study-related evaluations and procedures, and adhering to clinical trial protocols, regulatory requirements, and applicable research standards.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with clinical staff, research personnel, and referring providers to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while contributing to the continued advancement of retinal medicine through clinical practice and research.

Located in desirable South Florida, this opportunity offers the chance to build a rewarding professional career while enjoying year-round warm weather, coastal living, diverse communities, and an exceptional range of recreational, dining, and cultural amenities.
